One of the first times I was ever at Winter Park was during the summer, for a weekend concert fest, and it was a crazy good time, not only being there, but taking the drive.  Hardly any traffic on I-70... Everything is colorful...  And, even though you can't beat Steamboat skiing, the Rocky Mountain Mustang Roundup is an amazing Father's Day weekend for me.

Here are some ski resort opportunities that might make some cool summertime memories for you!  I'll start where I left off.

Steamboat

What a great place to take in some kayaking or tubing, especially if you're not experienced.  The Yampa river is wide, mellow, and part of some scenery that makes you forget everything that stresses you out.  Steamboat's also filled with great hike and bike paths.  There are also some super restaurant & bar locations, like the Backdoor Bar & Grill, and Las Tasqueros has excellent Mexican food.

Winter Park

If you're into disc golf, and you've memorized the courses around here, there's one in Winter Park that I hear is awesome.  Winter Park also boasts the state's largest Alpine slide, with a 610-foot drop.  And, there's a Friday music series just to keep things fun as well.

Well, that covers my two favorite resorts.

Copper Mountain also has a coaster that's more than a mile long and takes you up to 25mph - which, if you're sitting next to the track, on a tiny car, that's pretty fast.

Breckenridge offers its "Epic Discovery," that includes zip lining, mountain biking, and 4x4 trails, among just about any other outdoor activity you can imagine.
