JCPenney has announced that they will begin a massive going-out-of-business sale at all Colorado locations including Fort Collins, Greeley, Montrose and Durango.

JCPenney is the largest company to file for bankruptcy protection during the COVID-19 pandemic. USA Today is reporting that the retailer will close 242 locations, leaving about 600 open.

From the JCPenney company blog:

Following a comprehensive review of our retail footprint, JCPenney made the difficult decision to close 154 stores.

The department store is advertising discounts store-wide of 25 to 40% off original prices. They also say new seasonal essentials, such as swimwear and sunglasses, are also discounted at 25-30% off.
