On Tuesday, January 8, Jared Polis will be sworn in as Colorado's governor in Denver, and Cyndi Lauper and Nathaniel Rateliff and the Night Sweats will be there to celebrate.

Polis is known for showing his true colors, often on his feet — pairing his blue sneakers with his suits. Now that Polis and his shoes are taking over as Colorado's governor, he's announced the performance lineup for the Blue Sneaker Ball.

According to Denver Post's The KnowLauper, a longtime advocate for LGBTQ rights, signed on to perform at the historic inauguration of the first openly-gay man to be elected governor. Both Lauper and Colorado's own Nathaniel Rateliff will perform at the Denver Museum of Nature & Science following the inauguration at the ball put on by Colorado for All.

The Blue Sneaker Ball kicks off at 6:30 p.m., with cocktail attire (sneakers probably OK though). Tickets start at $35, and you can use the code COFORALL to get 50 percent off you Lyft ride to the museum that night. You can get your tickets here.

Denver's Westword reports that Melissa Etheridge will also perform in Denver next week at the The Purple Ball.
