What was supposed to be a fun weekend of camping turned into a nightmare of sorts for one CU Boulder student.

According to a press release from the Boulder County Sheriff's Office, Nederland police received a report Sunday at approximately 10 a.m. that an 18-year-old female went missing from the West Magnolia camping area.

The unidentified female's group told police she wandered off on her own at approximately 3 a.m. Sunday. They attempted to search for her on their own before notifying authorities.

At 11 a.m., the female found her way back to the campsite. She was transported to University Hospital by helicopter after sustaining substantial wounds to her legs.

As of Sunday at 4:30 p.m., deputies are waiting to talk to the female to find out whether drugs and/or alcohol were involved.
