It's great to see Colorado get mentioned in regards to a train ride. This one DOES sound phenomenal- it's a STEAM engine!

Have you ever taken a train ride? I've always wanted to, but haven't so far. Maybe I'll start with the one that Thrillist lists as one of 8 'Ridiculously Scenic for Fall.'

It's the Cumbres & Toltec Scenic Railroadand it sounds AWESOME. You'd leave from Colorado (Antonito, Colorado- down along the border) and ride a steam-powered train that zig-zags along the New Mexico/Colorado border where it ends in Chama, New Mexico. Along the way, you'll take in all the fall colors and great vistas of the route. This has me geared up!

After the 64-mile ride, you'll be chauffeured by luxury coach back to Antonito. That's just one of the many scenarios- You could take the coach to Chama and then the train back to Antonito, for example.  Tickets start at $105 for adults.
