If you were around between 1903 and 1910 there was no debate, you were a "Ford man." Then in 1911 Louis Chevrolet decided he didn't want to be a "Ford man," and started his own company, appropriately named Chevrolet. Since then, it's been one of the greatest debates the country has seen. Ford or Chevy? We could talk Mustangs and 'Vettes all day, but that's an argument for another day. Today we talk about what really gets most peoples big engines revving, trucks!

FORD

Well the "blue oval" does have 8 years more experience than Chevy. The Ford F- Series is also not only the best selling truck in the United States for the last 34 years, but the best selling vehicle in the U.S. for the past 24 years.  Comparing this years big boys, Ford's F-350 Super-Duty and Chevy's Silverado HD, Ford comes out on top in horsepower and torque in the gas model. Ford's newest truck also can not only out-tow the top of the line Chevrolet Silverado HD by 1,600 lbs but also out-haul it by 185 lbs in the truck bed. Plus, did you hear about the man from Michigan who just topped one million miles on his '02 F-350? It's true!

Chevy

Chevrolet was it's own company making it's own vehicles for only about six years before teaming up with General Motors to make what has become an American staple. The name of Chevy's full size truck has changed names a few times from the Advance Design, to the Task Force, the C/K, and now the Silverado, but it's always been a powerhouse. Known best for the transmissions that never die, Allison Transmissions, Silverados have a lot to offer. In the 2011 comparison, the Silverado with a diesel engine had more power and torque than the equivalent Ford. Most experts pick the new Chevy as the more comfortable truck of the two as well. The interior and all the extras seem to be more user friendly. GM is the 2nd largest automaker in the world and they like their trucks so well that they make them twice. The GMC Sierra is essentially the same truck with a different name. Most be doing something right!

Ok, so now is when I am supposed to tell you my pick right? Wrong! This maybe the best way for me to make an enemy, plus I am no expert, I drive a Nissan Titan (which I love very much by the way).  I guess it's all preference, but it's good to have choices, how fun would it be if there was only vanilla and no chocolate?
