The 400 Square foot Butterfly Building at 222 Laporte in Old Town Fort Collins, will soon open as the Butterfly Cafe.

According to the Coloradoan, the new tiny restaurant will open across from the Larimer County Justice Center on Monday. They expect to have a full menu by the end of April.

The Butterfly Cafe name pays homage to the historical significance of the Butterfly Building. We are a craft kitchen and coffee bar operating out of 400 square feet in the heart of Old Town, Fort Collins. We specialize in strong coffee and unique twists on your favorite soups, salads and sandwiches. We utilize many locally sourced and non additive ingredients. Our daily soups, salads, sauces and spreads are made from scratch.

The uniquely shaped building was recently home to the Fort Collins Bike Library and was originally part of the Poudre Valley Creamery. It was dubbed the “Butterfly Building” because of its “V” shaped roof, it is a unique and uncommon example of “Googie” architecture in Fort Collins.

Because of its small size, there will be more seating outside the restaurant than inside.
