While Black Keys singer/guitarist Dan Auerbach has been recording and producing all kinds of projects during the Keys' current hiatus, drummer Patrick Carney hasn't said much -- until now. Entertainment Weekly says Carney has helped Michelle Branch, a one-time pop sensation, write her first album in 14 years, titled Hopeless Romantic. Not only that, but Carney and Branch have also been dating for a while, which led to the collaboration.

Branch says, "Patrick was like, ‘This is your record, it has to sound like you.' It was the first time that someone pushed me to figure it all out on my own.” The disc is said to have “a laid-back rock & roll sound, with deeply personal lyrics inspired by her 2015 divorce and -- plot twist! -- her budding romance with Carney.”

Branch is best known for her hit "Everywhere," from 2001.  The new record is due out on April 7th.

The Black Keys have been on a break since touring behind their 2014 album Turn Blue.
